As a child, I spent my school holidays at my Mum’s workplace in Chinatown. After a long day, we’d go to Paddy’s Market to stock up on produce — sometimes that involved a bunch of morning glory — before stopping by Morning Glory, just for me. Today, I find myself returning to the bustling market for my own weekly groceries, carefully selecting the freshest vegetables and hunting for the best price, just as she would. This piece is a tribute to those precious memories and the familiar rhythms of care and routine my Mum passed down to me, all in the heart of Chinatown.
