· Preface to a Spring Night Banquet in the Peach and Plum Garden 《春夜宴桃李园序》 - Mao Qiao Wen

in the Peach and Plum Garden, Li Bai writes of gathering with family and friends to enjoy blossoms, wine and poetry, whilereflecting on how brief life is. The calligraphy moves between bold, closely packed strokes and lighter, more open passages. Follow a column from top to bottom and notice how the brush seems to quicken and pause, bringing the energy of the gathering into the writing.
