These Peranakan/Baba-Nyonya tea pots of my mother's with origins from Malacca, Malaysia - part of my heritage. This little sub-culture dates back to the 15th century, descendants of Chinese immigrants who came to the Malay Archipelago to trade and as part of a large entourage of a Chinese Princess led by Admiral Cheng Ho, as the story goes.
