This painting is based on my last trip to Bali just before Covid-19 hit us all. It’s based on a statue of Buddha in the garden of a Balinese artist and the lotus flowers were in beautiful ponds where I was staying. It was all peaceful and serene and then when the world went into chaos I tried to remember the serenity I was experiencing just before the world went mad.
