A sprig of kumquats makes this piece very apt for Lunar New Year.It always amuses me to think that Lunar New Year in China heralds the arrival of Spring – and spring blooms and blossom fill people’s houses. An offering of citrus is always traditional.

The butterflies are commonly found in Australia with the exception of the NZ red admiral from my homeland.
