Your choice 2: poison41.5 x 24.5 cm, (Framed) Watercolour and gouache on Arches paper
As adoptees, our circumstances and stories vary wildly. As transracial adoptees quite often it seems like our stories are on public display and people feel entitled to ask personal questions they wouldn’t ask others. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learnt to take control of how much I share and to whom. I am also learning to be kind: people are curious and sometimes don’t understand when they’ve overstepped the mark. But some days I’ll be polite and others well meh… Deadly nightshade was used as a poison or as a cosmetic (belladonna). It is highly toxic but belongs to the same family as tomatoes, aubergines and potatoes.Go figure.
