Biography
About Neis Wai
Neis Wai is a contemporary abstract mixed media artist based in Sydney, whose work seamlessly blends technical precision with expressive painterly gestures. She studied drawing at Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney, painting at Central Saint Martins in London, and lithography at The Art Students League of New York.
Following her formal education, Neis embarked on a yearlong Grand Tour through Europe, an experience that continues to inform and inspire her artistic practice. Her work is a rich tapestry of eclectic influences, drawing from natural history, abstraction, and the traditions of master artisans—from botanical illustrators to the Old Masters. With a keen interest in emergence, complexity, and ecology, she creates pieces that invite contemplation of the intricate connections between nature, humanity and art.
Neis’s work is held in private collections worldwide.
