Artist’s Statement
The works in this exhibition represent the activity of life. This consists of regular movement of our bodies between locations and mentally between what is requiring our attention. The exhibition has two series representing movement. ‘Commuter life’ is the paths and tracks we use when we travel and, particularly when commuting, it can become a circular or repetitive rhythm. ‘Being pulled and folded’ reflects the mental demands for our attention, where there is a constant tug or pull between the different parts that exist for us. All works completed using stranded cotton on Aida cloth.
